Beam Me Up!
The latest edition of Oil & Gas Connect; Issue 15, features Spreader Beam specialists; Modulift.
The story ‘CERN: detecting Modulift for universal Lifting Solutions’ is an interesting take on how versatile and efficient Modulift Spreader Beams can be. From Offshore to Onshore and now to the heights of virtual outer space, Modulift Spreader Beams can deliver on quality-assurance and ultimate safety, so crucial in such restricted and controlled environments such as CERN.
Modulift, over the moon with their most recent alliance to be coupled alongside such a prestigious organisation scooped the opportunity to shout it from the rooftops.
Written by Modulift’s Marketing Manager Wendy Armstrong with additional comments and analysis by Senior Design Engineer, Anthony Culshaw who oversaw the mission, this fascinating article not only underpins Modulift’s continued aim to maintain high standards but also elevate their profile to be truly out of this world!

Think of CERN and visions of fantastical science of nuclear fusion and state-of-the-art technological research are conjured up. Home of some of the world’s greatest inventions, one such example being the worldwide web, this awesome research organisation with their latest laboratory venture showcases their current and most controversial experiment to date, the Large Hadron Collider (LHC), the world’s largest particle accelerator. The LHC site consists of a 27 kilometer ring-circuit tunnel that travels between Switzerland and France.
Far from scaremonger reports that the LHC will suddenly implode the world into a black hole, the European Organization for Nuclear Research examines beam particles close to the speed of light in temperatures emanating those felt in outer space. Its main function is to understand the relationship between quantum mechanics and general relativity, which together could hold the fundamental answer to the basic laws of physics.
