Sue Spencer, Technical Director
Sue graduated from Exeter University with a Masters in Mechanical Engineering back in 1997, and always had a passion for this field from a young age. Sue began her career as a design engineer within the lifting industry working for a local company, and focused primarily on the design of lifting equipment and lifting rigs. During the 5 years experience gained, Sue came up with the design for what is now Modulift's flagship product - the Modular Spreader Beam, and started her own company back in 2002 based on the initial success of the product. Sue manages the Engineering Team that consists of 5 talented individual who are working on exciting designs for the future.
Paul Smith, Operations Director
Paul started his career as an engineering apprentice, gaining ONC and HNC's in mechanical engineering before going on to complete a degree in Mechanical Engineering and Business from Southampton University. His first employment was with a lift design and manufacturing company, where he progressed from project engineer to project manager, before relocating from Hampshire to Somerset. For the past 10 years he has worked at a subcontract manufacturing company, first as a project manager and most recently as their operations manager. Paul has undertaken a wide range of projects from implementing ERP systems and managing manufacturing improvement projects, through to designing business management dashboards and reporting using SQL databases. He joins Modulift to manage our manufacturing activities and to develop supplier relationships to facilitate future growth.
Chris Schwab, Account Executive (Technical)
Chris studied Engineering at college and was selected to be the Electrical and Mechanical Apprentice for a company specialising in GM research. After spending 7 years completing his apprenticeship, Chris started working as a maintenance engineer for a national building contractor, then relocated to Dorset in 2007. Chris was introduced to Modulift and begain his career as an estimator, and has now progressed to Account Executive. Chris looks after the daily sales enquiries and assisting customers with any technical requirements they may have. Outside of work, Chris has a wife, two wonderful children and when he gets the time he is usually tinkering with his car.
Kerry Talbot-Jones, Marketing Manager
With a background in Sales, Kerry decided to make the career move into marketing and has never looked back! Over the past 15 years Kerry has progressed up the career ladder, heading up marketing depts in the Finance, Construction and the Lighting design and manufacturing industries, gaining 2 post graduate qualifications along the way. So when the opportunity to join the Modulift team came up, it was a natural fit.
When she's not working on marketing strategies, Kerry is obsessed with her 2 cocker spaniels and getting her cupcake roller skates on - you're never too old!
Malcolm Peacock, Business Development Manager
Malcolm started working for a lifting equipment sales and rental company in Bristol on the shop floor. His roles included assembling wire rope and chainslings, preparing other lifting equipment and orders for sales and rentals. Malcolm continued to develop his career in the industry as a Sales Representative and Branch Manager, and in 2007 relocated to Abu Dhabi. Joining Modulift in 2014 Malcolm works on developing the Middle East and Asia Pacific interests for Modulift, and works closely and supports many international Modulift distributors.
Yogesh Gopal, Design Engineering Manager
Yogesh graduated from University of Glasgow with a Masters in Mechanical Engineering and Management degree. He has worked in several engineering industries, from Gearbox, Automotive, Subsea to Water treatment, before joining Modulift in February 2018. Yogesh started his career as a design engineer and quickly grew to a lead role within 10+ years of work experience. Other than engineering, he used to be a mobile app techie, coder and cryptocurrency serial entrepreneur.
Vidhya Subramani, Design Engineer
Vidhya pursued a Bachelor Degree in Civil Engineering Government at the college of Engineering in India. She has more than 5 years work experience in Structural Design for Industrial Buildings. Vidhya started as a Junior Design Engineer and progressed to become a Structural Design Engineer with an Engineering Consultancy Company in India. Since moving to England in the middle of 2017 Vidhya hopes to have a similar growth and experience working with Modulift.
Tom Cox, Senior Project Engineer
After leaving education without a career path in mind, Tom was given the opportunity to work as a temp for Modulift back in 2011 as a Production and QA Assistant. The longer that Tom worked for Modulift, the more he began to see an opportunity to develop a career and soon set about making his temporary role permanent. 7 years on Tom has now worked his way up to become a Project Engineer within the recently formed Projects Team. Tom's main focus is to ensure that every customer's needs are met and that their orders are delivered to them as expected with all the relevant documentation quickly and efficiently.
Neil Stratford, Projects Administrator
Neil is originally from a background in electronic manufacturing where his career journey followed into Logistics & Warehouse administration. More recently Neil has been involved in supply chain before joining Modulift in 2018 as a Project Administrator. Neil’s interests outside of work include an interest in history - specifically ancient technology, astronomy, gadgets & camping. Neil works closely with the Project Engineers on a daily basis.
Louise Rowe, Sales Order Administrator
Louise has worked in logisitics, shipping all sorts of things from Christmas catalogues and fake snow to fertiliser and valves. She's now decided to join the Modulift team, helping to continue delivering our first class service. A keen gardener, Louise also likes crime programmes, going to the pictures and spending time with her family.
Paul Savage, Finance Manager
Paul graduated from Liverpool University with a degree in Law, and after 11 years of legal type work for motor accident claims, he tried his hand at self-employment. Paul went on to work as an Office Administrator for a local vending company for nearly 7 years before moving to Dorset. Paul began his career at Modulift in 2009 and was then offered a permanent role as an Administration Assistant, then moved on to Sales Orders Co-Ordinator. In 2015 Paul began his Advanced Diploma in Accounting and passed a year later with flying colours, he is now Modulift's Finanace Manager.
