Occupational Health and Safety Policy
Our mission is to globally deliver our expertise through the innovative design and manufacture of quality products, whilst ensuring a safe lifting and working environment for all.
The Managing Director has overall responsibility for occupational health and safety (OH&S) throughout our organisation, which includes our customers, employee’s, visitors, contractors and end users of our products.
The safety and reliability of both our custom lifting products and standard product ranges, are some of our fundamental principles. Hence, we will always ensure that we:
- Design and manufacture high quality lifting products, following efficient and effective practises and controls.
- Use only proven raw materials, that are traceable to the source of supply.
- Adhere to all relevant statutory and legislative requirements, and recognised industry best practise.
The Managing Director, in-conjunction with Management and the Safety Advisor, organises Risk Assessments and inspections of the workplace and working practises. Ensuring that departments are Eliminating Hazards to Reduce Safety Risks, reporting and investigating any accidents at work or near miss events and maintaining safety records.
We recognise that modern OH&S is a broad subject and have designed our arrangements to reflect this, encompassing Physical Safety, Mental Wellbeing, Work Environments and General Welfare. Our commitment is to encourage honest reporting of OH&S concerns and to treat all such concerns in an unbiased and unprejudiced manor. We believe this attitude is reflected within the Modulift behavioural values: Cooperation, Respect, Honest, Positivity and Proactivity.
To Continually Improve our safety performance and reinforce a positive Safety Culture, we have determined a number of OH&S Objectives which provide a framework by which we can and will measure our performance. Performance against these objectives is an input to regular Management Reviews, to ensure that this policy is realised in practise.
To achieve of our objectives, we operate a comprehensive Business Management System, which is designed to satisfy the requirements of: BS EN ISO 45001. Within this, we utilise the recognised approach of: Plan, Do, Check, Act.
Employee Representation, Participation and Feedback within OH&S matters is encouraged. There are several platforms maintained, including OH&S Committee Meetings and the appointment of a Representative of Employee Safety.
All employees will receive Safety Training, in order to perform their role competently and safely use any work equipment.
We will ensure our activity complies with applicable statutory and legislative requirements and any relevant national or international standards. And where practically possible, also that of our supply chain, which is reinforced by our Supplier Code of Conduct. We periodically audit ourselves and conduct legal reviews, to ensure compliance and manage change.
This policy is communicated internally, supported by internal training programmes. All employees understand, are conversant with and actively support its intentions. This policy is displayed on our company website for interested parties.
If anyone has any concerns relating to OH&S, at any time, they are immediately encouraged to raise them directly with the designated Management Representative [QuEnSh Manager], who reports to the Board of Directors. Or alternatively they can be raised directly with a member of the Board of Directors or the Representative of Employee Safety.
This Policy is reviewed annually, or earlier, if work activity changes significantly.
